Instructions for owners and contractors who wish to receive provision for the construction of the Private Sewer of the Building
If you intend to take care of the construction of the Private Sewer of your Building which is located in areas where the central sewer system is not yet functioning, the Pafos Sewerage Board (SAPA) gives you the following useful instructions:
The connection well (ie the well made at the border of your site with the road), must be made of concrete or plastic, must be watertight and have internal dimensions 75 X 75 cm and a depth of 140 cm from its sidewalk height. A flow groove must necessarily be formed at the bottom of the well. The cover of the well must be made of cast iron or spruce iron according to the standard EN 124 and have minimum dimensions of 60 X 45 cm.
The new wells for connection to the sewer system, which will be located in the yard of your premises, must be made of concrete or plastic, must be watertight, have a flow groove at the bottom and have internal dimensions of 45 X 45 cm. The well cover must be made of cast iron or spruce iron according to EN 124 and have a minimum dimensions of 45 X 45 cm.
Sewer pipes must be made of 110 mm diameter uPVC plastic according to the standard EN 1401 (orange colour) and to be placed with a minimum slope of 1%.
In case of pumping sewage from basement or semi-basement, you must necessarily refer to SAPA for correct guidance regarding the dimensions of the pumping station to be constructed as well as the number and characteristics of the sewage pumps.
If the premises include restaurants, then the construction of a grease trap is definitely required and you should again refer to Pafos Sewerage Board for guidance regarding the size and layout of the grease trap.
Here you can find the typical plans available for the construction of wells, installation of pipes, construction of pumping stations and grease traps.
